Reclaim the movies and the audience! The not for profit and registered charity presents restored silent and sound film classics. A number of the sessions are accompanied with live music. Since 2007 it has continued to promote the artistic, cultural and historic value of cinema.

April 7 Sunday at 1pm. Blackmail (1929) - Happy 125th Birthday to Alfred Hitchcock. Restored silent drama with soundtrack, 82 minutes.
Quintessential Hitchcock psychological thriller about murder and blackmail, but a superior example of silent cinema at its peak in the late 1920s.

April 21 Sunday at 1pm. Richard III (1955) restored classic with soundtrack, 159 minutes.
Laurence Olivier produces, directs and stars in this glorious Technicolor adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece.

April 6 Saturday at 2pm. The Flickers: a treasure chest of early cinema from 1916 - 1927, with live Christie Theatre Organ accompaniment (Graeme Costin). 70 minutes.
Live music and the wonder, pathos and laughter. The program showcases superb classic comedies from Charlie Chaplin in his 110th Anniversary Year, Harold Lloyd and Laurel and Hardy. A wonderful cocktail of early cinema treats. These filmmakers understood the importance of the audience as the final creative contributor to the process of making a film. Their goal: entertainment, spectacle, enchantment and laughter, for the audience.

April 27 Saturday at 2pm. Peter Pan (1924) restored silent classic with authentic colour tints and first film version of Barrie’s iconic story. Share the adventure to Never Never Land in this pictorial masterpiece. With live music (Graeme Costin), 100 minutes.

Restoring the audience with classic silent and sound films!

Quality cinema presentations since September 1896. In that month Marius Sestier gave private demonstrations of the Lumiere cinematographe at the Lyceum Theatre and presented the first exhibition of the cinematographe to the public at 237 Pitt Street, Sydney, the Salon Lumiere.

In the menu at the top of the page is Australia and the Silver Screen, an Australian treasure trove of items including a tribute to Felix the Cat and fascinating websites from Mark St Leon, Rod Blackmore OAM, Kev Franzi and Nick Murphy.
